Penis head augmentation

Glans Penis Enlargement

It is possible to increase the size of the glans (penis head) with hyaluronic-acid filler — and, in larger doses, to reduce sensitivity as a treatment for premature ejaculation.

How it works

A finer filler for the head.

Androfill uses a specific filler for this area which is finer and less firm than the filler used along the shaft of the penis. Typically 2–6 ml of filler is required to increase the size of the penis head, which may require 2 or 3 visits to the clinic.

Generally, in dosages of more than 6 ml, filler to the glans can reduce the sensitivity of the penis for the duration of the life of the filler. This is, therefore, a potential treatment for premature ejaculation in larger dosages (typically 6 ml+), requiring 2 or 3 procedures.

Individual results will vary from person to person.

In patients with a foreskin (uncircumcised), augmentation of the glans may make it more difficult to retract the foreskin back over the enlarged head, with a risk of phimosis (difficulty retracting the foreskin — for example when cleaning — which can lower the cleanliness of the area and potentially increase the chance of an infection). Patients seeking augmentation of the head only (to increase size but not change sensitivity) must be aware that injections of filler have the potential to reduce the sensitivity of the penis. The glans procedure has a lower satisfaction rate than shaft filler — discuss realistic expectations with your doctor.

The evidence

What the research shows.

Moon DG, Kwak TI, Kim JJ, Cho HY. "Injection of hyaluronic acid into the penis glans." International Journal of Impotence Research (2003) 15, 439–443. The authors found that injecting HA into the dermis of the glans was straightforward, showed long-term residence, and resulted in a high satisfaction rate — suggesting injectable filler is a safe, effective material for soft-tissue augmentation in patients with a small glans.
