Reduced sensitivity treatment

Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation is the most common ejaculation problem experienced by men. In larger doses, hyaluronic-acid filler to the glans can reduce sensitivity — a non-surgical, reversible option to help you last longer.

Understanding it

There is no single "normal".

There is no set definition of how long it should take to ejaculate. In some cases both partners may be satisfied with a shorter liaison, while for others the premature ejaculation of one partner can be a source of significant tension. One widely cited study found the average time to ejaculate during intercourse was around 5.5 minutes. If you regularly last significantly less time than this — or your partner would like you to last longer — you may benefit from treatment.

Causes can be both physical and psychological, and honest assessment matters. Filler is not a cure for every cause, and we will be candid with you about whether it is likely to help in your case.

  • PsychologicalA habit of ejaculating quickly (for example when masturbating) carried into the bedroom, performance anxiety, stress, or relationship pressures.
  • PhysicalHeightened glans sensitivity, hormonal or neurological factors, or other underlying medical conditions.

How the filler treatment works

Reducing sensitivity in the glans.

Androfill offers a treatment that involves injecting dermal filler — the same type of hyaluronic-acid filler often used in the lips — into the head of the penis. The goal is to reduce sensitivity in the glans for the life of the filler, usually 12–18 months in this area.

The amount of filler needed to reduce sensitivity varies from person to person, but is usually more than 6 ml, often requiring 2 or 3 procedures. An additional effect is that the penis head will be larger, due to the added volume. Conversely, more filler can be injected to further decrease sensitivity.

You don't need surgery. Numbing cream is applied to the end of the penis and you lie back while the doctor injects the filler. Individual results will vary from person to person.

Reducing glans sensitivity is a considered decision. Patients seeking head augmentation for size alone must be aware that filler to the glans has the potential to reduce sensitivity. If a reduction in sensitivity occurs and is unwanted, in most cases it can be reversed by dissolving the filler from the head of the penis with a dissolving enzyme. In uncircumcised patients, enlarging the glans may make it harder to retract the foreskin, with a risk of phimosis. Discuss realistic expectations with your doctor.

Closely related to glans enlargement.

Because the same filler and technique are used, this treatment overlaps with glans (penis head) enlargement — at lower doses the emphasis is on size, and at higher doses on reduced sensitivity.
